A Conversation with Frankie Martinez of UTSA football

Frankie Martinez really needs no introduction. The UTSA football walk-on turned starting left tackle for UTSA this year, Frankie has quickly become a fan favorite. His ‘next man up’ mentality has allowed him to step into the starting lineup when the team really needed him this year after several injuries on the offensive line. Coach Traylor couldn’t say enough about Frankie and the contributions he’s made to the team in 2022. He’s done this all the while going to school, paying out of pocket for it, and working odd jobs to get by. Is there anything Frankie can’t do?!?

In case you haven’t been keeping up, Frankie is a San Antonio native and attended East Central High School. He was a three-sport standout at East Central, an honorable mention all-district selection and team captain as a senior. Frankie was also a member of the power lifting team for three years and track & field for two years.

Frankie sat down with the Runners Rising Project as part of another NIL deal.

Topic discussed:

  • Recent NIL deals
  • Pets
  • Cyrotherapy
  • Bye week activities

  • and much more….
