A conversation with Trey Moore of UTSA Football

Last season Trey Moore was named to the 2022 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-America Team. For those of us that followed UTSA this last season know exactly why. Moore was also named to Conference USA’s all freshman team as well as all-conference honorable mention. Trey had 59 tackles to go along with 18 tackles for loss, breaking former UTSA great Marcus Davenport’s single season record.

Trey is a San Antonio native coming out of Smithson Valley High School where he played for head coach Larry Hill. After as stellar high school career, Trey was selected by the San Antonio Express newspaper to the All-area team. Trey played 3 games in 2021 before redshirting for the season.

Trey jumped on a zoom call to talk about the season and his expectations for next year.
