Eddie Benningfield

Eddie is the Executive Director for the Runners Rising Project. As Executive Director, Eddie oversees the day-to-day operations of the Runners Rising Project, and provides leadership and intent to our team of volunteers. Eddie graduated from UTSA in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Commissioned into the United States Air Force through UTSA's own Air Force ROTC Detachment 842. Eddie's military career has taken him to Southwest Texas (Twice to Del Rio), Georgia (the U.S. State), Korea, Germany, and multiple other countries across the globe. Eddie is currently stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, where he and his wife Mary both live.

Introducing our First Official Athletes for March 2022!

The moment we’ve been working towards at Runners Rising is here:  We’ve announced our first official athletes for the month of March.  Our intent is to do this monthly, with one female athlete and one male athlete announced each month.  For our First Male Official Athlete, we’ve selected Infielder/Outfielder Jonathan Tapia.  For our First Female Official Athlete, we’ve selected Forward Lexi Bolton.  Let’s dive in and see why both got selected.
